New Clippies Added

I have been going back to the basics with my designs a bit lately. With my classic and simple clippies and bows. Watch for fun polka dot pinwheel bows to be added soon!

I just love how these clippies are so classic and sweet looking, without being over the top. They look adorable in pigtails or simply use one to sweep bangs off the face.

My Sisters Wedding Cake!!

Here is the wedding cake I have been such a nervous wreck over. I haven't made a cake in several months, and no time to practice. All in all, not to bad for being so rusty!
Bottom was 15" red velvet with buttercream filling, and top two where 12" and 9" yellow cake with whipped ganache filling, covered in buttercream with hand piped red scrollwork. If you look real close you will see random hidden hearts in the scrollwork...it was Valentines Day after all. ;)

Good News !

As many you have may have noticed my Etsy shop is in vacation mode until I could sort out the CPSIA regulations...

After pouring over all the new CPSIA info that has been tricking in, I think I should be clear to re-open my shop back up within the next few week. I am taking the rest of this week off on vacation while I prepare for my sisters wedding and *gulp* ..make the wedding cake.

Rest assured that all of my bows, hair clips, and woven headbands are safe, non-toxic, and lead free. All ribbon and supplies used in my products come from suppliers that are CPSIA complaint.

Another New Treasury - Blueberries and Apricots

After a small break from making treasuries (aka I was to busy working on orders ;) )I whipped this one together. Wouldn't you know I missed the main Treasury opening yesterday by a few seconds! As luck would have it I didn't have to wait long and Treasury West opened up this morning.

CPSIA and a Frightening Reality Check

I came across a wonderful blog by Happy Panda Baby this morning. She gives a great breakdown of how much it will actually cost to have items tested so that you could be in compliance with the new CPSIA law as written at this point.

It's a bit of a frightening reality check when you see it broken down like this. I am all for having higher standards to make toys and children's items safer, but the way the new law is written (passed and goes into effect Feb 10th for those who don't know) It will cause so many small and WAHM businesses to have no choice but to close because they just can not afford the testing to be in compliance. Let's hope this mind boggling law will get amended soon before it causes much more damage.
